The Brief
Blue City Cycles has been a neighborhood institution on Chicago's South Side since 2009. Owner Owen Lloyd built the shop on honest work, fair pricing, and genuine community spirit. The shop even has a cat named Vanya. They are not trying to compete with big-box retailers - they are the shop your neighborhood depends on.
They needed a website that reflected exactly that. Not corporate. Not templated. Real, functional, and approachable - just like the shop.
What We Built
We designed a single-page website with a personality-driven layout that reflects exactly what Blue City Cycles is: a neighborhood institution where everyone is welcome. The design is clean, fast, and focused - every key action reachable within two scrolls.
Hero section with neighborhood-first brand statement
Shop story section with founder background and community identity
Services and pricing section with transparent estimate policy
DIY resource section with 3 curated YouTube tutorial embeds (flat tire repair, handlebar wrapping, bike washing)
Contact form with direct phone and email links
Google Maps embed for shop location
Shop hours prominently placed
Footer with full contact details and social links
Copy written to match the shop's approachable, direct personality
The Result
A website that feels exactly like the shop it represents. Approachable, practical, and helpful - built to serve the South Side cycling community just as well online as Blue City Cycles does in person every day.
